Our Philosophy

Early childhood is a time for happy and carefree days with ample times to play, learn and grow. Our challenging, fun, and age-appropriate program engages the whole child. It is designed to provide spiritual, physical, and social experiences at the developmental level of your child. We believe a child learns through play. We provide many hands on learning activities throughout the day. Activities are Christ-centered, showing God’s love and guidance in all areas of Christian living. The program is flexible and varied, with provisions for experimentation and creative activities. Teachers plan for the needs and abilities of each individual child in their classrooms.

Our Mission Statement

It is the mission of Grace Lutheran Childcare and Preschool to :

Connect children and families to Christ in all that we do.

Our Curriculum

Our year round curriculum incorporates the best practices of early childhood education and is based on the Washington State Early Learning and Development Guidelines.

Your child will receive a portfolio at the end of the year. It will include samples of the child’s work done throughout the year and photographs of your child mastering the monthly objectives.

We provide a varied curriculum for children 12 months to 5 years old. It focuses on hands-on learning, integrated with weekly and monthly themes emphasizing the key areas in the development of the whole child.

We also have a before and after school program for Elementary School Children up to age 12, as well as a full summer Program for all children.

  • Spiritual: Focusing on Jesus Christ as our loving Savior.
  • Cognitive: Providing the concrete, hands-on experiences through which young children learn.
  • Emotional: Developing self-esteem, confidence and independence.
  • Physical: Providing exercise for large and small muscle groups.
  • Social: Building the foundation for interpersonal interaction.
  • Language: Provide ample opportunity to experience language through books, social interaction, and daily communication.
  • Expressive music and art: The process is more important than the end product.

Our Staff

We strive to create a rewarding environment, not only for our students, but also our staff. We are very blessed to have a loving and caring staff. It is our staff’s own commitment to teaching and nurturing children that drives our program to excellence. They enjoy young children and are knowledgeable in the principles of child development and their applications. Parent/teacher communication is encouraged and sought at all times. All teachers participate in on-going education throughout the year.
